‘If you all hate Chester’… Australian Wrexham fans direct chant at bitter Red Dragons rivals

Australian Wrexham supporters were filmed chanting about rival side Chester in the 3-0 win over Melbourne Victory.

Wrexham notched a win against Melbourne Victory in their opening pre-season friendly of the Australian tour.

Notably, Ryan Hardie got his name on the scoresheet for Wrexham as they ran away as 3-0 victors against the Australian side.

Wrexham started slowly in the contest, with the exception of Ryan Longman proving to be massively effective down the right flank, but the game was comfortably placed into the palms of Phil Parkinson’s side in the second stanza.

As Wrexham ran away with a comfortable lead, chants echoed around the Marvel Stadium by Australian Red Dragons fans, who directed a song towards bitter rivals Chester.

What Wrexham fans were heard chanting about rivals Chester

Wrexham’s rivalry with Chester dates back far, and before the Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac take over of the club, the two teams would often fight it out in the National League.

Situated just 13 miles from each other across the Welsh-English border, there has always been a rivalry between the two clubs, and that has even spilled into the new Wrexham fans, who have taken an interest in the club since Reynolds and Mac’s take over.

Even those in Australia have a disliking for Chester after what they were heard chanting in the 3-0 win over Melbourne Victory.

A video posted by Baz Thomas on X shows the Wrexham faithful sing: “If you all Hate Chester, clap your hands.”
