Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo in danger? Real name their 5 untouchables without the Brazilians

Real Madrid have caused a stir in the footballing world once again — but this time, not with a result on the pitch. The Spanish giants, led by Florentino Pérez, have released a list of five “untouchable” players — key squad members who will not be sold under any circumstances. Surprisingly, Brazilian stars Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo have not made the cut.
The decision has raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike, given how instrumental both players have been for the club in recent seasons. Vinicius, in particular, has emerged as a face of Real Madrid’s post-Ronaldo era, dazzling fans with his pace, flair, and decisive contributions in key matches.
Rodrygo, too, has delivered some of the club’s most memorable moments in recent Champions League campaigns. His cool head in big games and his knack for scoring important goals made him one of Carlo Ancelotti’s go-to men in pressure situations. But despite their obvious quality, neither of the two Brazilians has been declared “off-limits.”
Instead, the five players Real Madrid have named as non-transferable are Thibaut Courtois, Raúl Asencio, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and new Galáctico Kylian Mbappé. These players represent the club’s new foundation — a mix of experience, youth, and elite-level talent that Pérez wants to build his next dynasty around.
It’s a clear signal of where Real Madrid’s priorities now lie. With Bellingham and Mbappé being seen as the future faces of the club, and Courtois providing world-class stability between the posts, the club’s vision appears to be shifting from the flair of Brazilian showmen to a more pragmatic blend of power, control, and marketability.
The decision also comes at a time when Vinicius Jr has reportedly attracted massive offers from Saudi Arabian clubs. These clubs, backed by virtually limitless funds, have set their sights on Europe’s brightest stars — and Vinicius fits that bill perfectly. While no official bids have been made public, sources close to the player suggest that Real Madrid is at least listening.
Rodrygo’s situation is slightly different. While there’s less noise surrounding his future, he remains a valuable asset whose sale could generate a considerable profit for the club. With Real Madrid always looking to balance sporting success with financial health, a big-money move for Rodrygo could help fund further reinforcements.
There’s also speculation that Pérez is preparing for a massive reshuffle in the summer. With the arrival of Endrick, another Brazilian wonderkid, already confirmed, and Arda Güler expected to play a bigger role next season, the club may feel that they’re covered in attacking areas.
This move could also be seen as an effort to phase out players whose market value is currently at its peak. If Real Madrid want to cash in, now might be the ideal moment — particularly if they plan to invest heavily in midfield reinforcements or a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.
Critics argue that letting go of Vinicius or Rodrygo would be a mistake. Both players are young, proven at the highest level, and understand the club’s culture. They’ve weathered difficult seasons, carried the team during injury crises, and performed on the biggest stages. To deem them expendable, some believe, risks undermining the chemistry and continuity that Real Madrid has worked hard to build.
But others see it differently. Real Madrid is known for making bold moves — letting go of legends when others would cling on. From Casillas to Ronaldo to Ramos, the club has shown no player is bigger than its vision. Perhaps Vinicius and Rodrygo are simply the latest victims of this cold, calculated approach.
What remains certain is that both players now face a critical period. Will they fight for their place and prove their worth in a reshaped squad, or will they consider a new challenge elsewhere where their status is more secure?
There are still several months before the summer window opens, but this announcement has already added fuel to the transfer rumour mill. Clubs across Europe — and beyond — will be watching closely.
For Vinicius and Rodrygo, the message is clear: despite their talent, they are no longer guaranteed central roles in Real Madrid’s future. Whether they accept that or seek greener pastures remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid continues to evolve. With Pérez at the helm and Mbappé now wearing the white shirt, the club is entering yet another ambitious chapter. And in this era, only the most indispensable will remain untouched. For now, that list doesn’t include Vinicius Jr or Rodrygo — and that says it all.
