Van Nistelrooy Hopes for Triple Injury Boost for United’s Clash with PAOK

Ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League showdown with PAOK, interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has provided a significant injury update, expressing optimism that Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, and Antony might return for the match. The game marks the penultimate one in Van Nistelrooy’s temporary role, with Ruben Amorim set to take over as United’s new head coach next week.
Van Nistelrooy shared that while key players like Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Kobbie Mainoo are still sidelined, Eriksen, Mount, and Antony could be available. Eriksen has yet to feature under Van Nistelrooy due to a knock, Mount has been out since suffering a head injury against Tottenham, and Antony has been recovering from a sprained ankle.
Despite these challenges, the interim manager is hopeful that the three players’ return will bolster United’s squad as they aim for their first win in the Europa League this season after three consecutive draws.
Van Nistelrooy also provided a positive update on Leny Yoro, the young defender sidelined by a metatarsal injury during pre-season. Although Yoro’s return to matches is expected post-November international break, he recently joined team training, signaling a steady recovery.
As Amorim prepares to step in, Van Nistelrooy’s tenure nears its end, but his focus remains on securing a solid performance for United in Europe.
