Tino Livramento reacts to Harvey Barnes’ one-word message amid Newcastle whispers

Newcastle teammates were quick to react to Harvey Barnes’ latest update on social media amid ongoing speculation around his future at St James’ Park.

Barnes ended last season strongly, forcing his way into Eddie Howe’s starting XI and overtaking Anthony Gordon in the pecking order.

He made just 17 Premier League starts in total, but notably, 11 of those came in the final 11 games of the campaign, highlighting his growing influence in the latter stages.

However, his limited involvement earlier in the season has sparked speculation over a potential move away this summer. Football Insider revealed Newcastle are prepared to listen to offers for Barnes, should they manage to secure a replacement during the current window.

Newcastle are closing in on a deal for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, which could prompt an attacking reshuffle. Barnes is one of the players that could be considered as a potential departure to balance the books.

Amid the transfer talk, the Englishman shared a post on social media focused on pre-season preparations, signalling where his attention currently lies.

Harvey Barnes returns to Newcastle training amid transfer uncertainty

Barnes gave fans a glimpse into Newcastle’s pre-season preparations as he returned to training with the rest of the squad this week.

The 27-year-old posted a series of photos on Instagram from the opening session, simply captioned: “Back.” His return was met with plenty of support, with Tino Livramento, Joelinton, and club legend Alan Shearer all liking the post.

Despite the positive atmosphere among teammates, Barnes’ future at St James’ Park remains uncertain.

Barnes could be open to a move away from Newcastle this summer after limited opportunities last season, where consistent first-team football proved hard to come by.

Football Insider previously revealed that Aston Villa had identified Barnes as a potential alternative to Marcus Rashford, with Unai Emery’s side actively monitoring options in the market.

While Livramento was among those showing support for Barnes on social media, he too has been the subject of transfer speculation.

Football Insider reported that Manchester City see Livramento as a potential long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. However, Newcastle are doing everything they can to keep him at the club.

It’s understood that Eddie Howe is determined to retain key players this summer, and with Champions League football on offer, the club are in a strong position to keep hold of Livramento heading into the new season.
