Real Madrid Predicted Lineup vs. Liverpool: Champions League Showdown
Real Madrid is set to face Liverpool at Anfield with several key players missing, including Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Dani Carvajal, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Éder Militão, and David Alaba. Despite these injury setbacks, the defending European champions are determined to continue their Champions League campaign.
After a shaky start to their title defense, Real Madrid finds themselves in 18th place in the group stage following losses to Lille and AC Milan. In contrast, Liverpool has been flawless, winning all four of their matches and sitting atop the Premier League standings.
This clash is pivotal for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who have a strong history against Liverpool, having defeated them in both the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals. However, with Liverpool in excellent form, the pressure will be on Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham to lead the charge in the absence of Vinícius Júnior.
In goal, Thibaut Courtois will look to replicate his man-of-the-match performance from the 2022 Champions League final. Fede Valverde is expected to fill in at right-back, despite it not being his natural position, with Raúl Asencio making his Champions League debut alongside Antonio Rüdiger in central defense. Ferland Mendy, after getting a rest, will return to the left-back position and will have the challenging task of keeping Mohamed Salah at bay.
In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modrić will take on the central roles, with Camavinga covering plenty of ground to help shield the defense. Arda Güler, after a strong performance recently, is in line for another start on the right wing, while Bellingham will continue to pull the strings in the attacking midfield role. On the left wing, all eyes will be on Kylian Mbappé to deliver the goods, while Brahim Díaz will lead the line as the central striker.
This lineup will be crucial for Real Madrid as they look to take on Liverpool’s formidable attack and keep their Champions League hopes alive.
