In reflecting on his choice, Šeško revealed that United’s historic legacy—and its future potential—sealed the deal. “The history of Manchester United is obviously very special,” he said. “But what really excites me is the future… I could feel the positive energy and family environment… perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.”

Director of football Jason Wilcox was effusive in his praise. He described Šeško as possessing both “electrifying pace” and the physical presence to “dominate defenders,” qualities that align well with United’s vision of a dominant, world-class striker.

Šeško arrives with a strong pedigree: over the past two seasons, he has been the most prolific scorer in Europe’s top-five leagues under the age of 23, netting 21 goals and adding 6 assists during the 2024–25 campaign for RB Leipzig.

The transfer saga also included challenges from other clubs. Newcastle United made two separate bids—one higher than United’s—but ultimately lost out. Despite the lure of Champions League football, Šeško preferred the vision and project presented by Manchester United.
