Not Eze: Fabrizio Romano Says Arsenal Keen to Sign ‘England’s Best Winger’

Arsenal are admirers of Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon and have discussed pursuing him internally, journalist Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.
The Gunners have reportedly identified the England international as a potential option on the wing, though they have yet to open any negotiations with Newcastle or the player himself.
Gordon is believed to be firmly among Arsenal’s shortlist at the moment, and it remains to be seen whether he will be prioritised, as the North London club have yet to pinpoint their clear winger target for the summer window.
Arsenal are now likely to miss out on one of their potential options in Nico Williams, as the Spanish winger is giving priority to a summer move to Barcelona.
Arsenal Hold Talks for Anthony Gordon
Among winger options being considered

Romano, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, has revealed that Gordon is ‘one of the players’ Arsenal admire and have internally discussed pursuing as a winger option:
“Arsenal interest is true, he is one of the players they like, and they discussed internally.
“But what I understand, it’s not that Arsenal have opened any negotiations with the Newcastle or with his agents.
“It’s just an appreciation for the player, but for the winger at Arsenal, I think we have to be bit patient before we understand who is the player they really want to sign.”
Gordon, praised as ‘England’s best winger’, was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last year before he penned a new long-term contract with Newcastle in October.
The 24-year-old winger has enjoyed a promising 2024/25 campaign at St James’ Park, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Arsenal’s summer business has gathered pace in recent days, with deals for Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa now close to completion.
The Gunners are also advancing in their pursuit of Valencia defender Christian Mosquera and are expected to bring in reinforcements to Mikel Arteta’s frontline as well, with Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze emerging as another option.
