‘Mohammed Kudus exit deal now on’ as Tottenham in talks with agency

Mohammed Kudus could leave West Ham for Tottenham this summer.

The Ghanaian winger endured a difficult campaign at the London Stadium, notching just five goals and three assists in 32 Premier League matches.

That is in stark comparison to the previous season, when he notched an impressive tally of 14 goal contributions from 33 games in the league.

Despite an underwhelming season, the 24-year-old is still attracting significant interest from Spurs and Chelsea and could depart from Graham Potter‘s side.

West Ham could lose Kudus after new Sky Sports update

A West Ham exit for Kudus seems inevitable at this point, and it may be sealed in the near future after a new update emerged.

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg reported (6 July) claims that negotiations between the Hammers and Tottenham are still going on.

It states that Kudus’ agency, ROOF, are leading the talks, the winger is open to the move, and a deal is on.

Kudus sale could help West Ham

If the Hammers could rake in a sum near the £60million mark for the Ghana star, then they should take it and run.

Potter needs as much backing as he can get from David Sullivan and Co, with a huge overhaul on the cards in East London after a 14th-placed finish last time out.

That kind of money would allow the former Brighton boss to completely change his side’s fortunes and bring in players like Taylor Harwood-Bellis or Charlie Cresswell to reinforce the defence, which is desperately in need of strengthening.

The attack is another area where recruits are needed, and while it may feel counterintuitive to let Kudus leave, he had a poor campaign by his usual standard, and the finances would allow the Irons to transform their front line and ease the burden on Jarrod Bowen.

Ultimately, the deal makes sense for all parties, Kudus no longer wants to play for the E20 side, and Potter can reinvest the funds elsewhere and drastically improve his squad before he loses the support of the fans and the board.

It remains to be seen whether Thomas Frank’s side is his destination, but it seems that the former Ajax man will not be a Hammers player next season.
