The Hoops have held a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old and the Belgian side are keen to offload the wide man after he entered the final year of his contract.

Voetbalkrant report that the Scottish Premiership champions have been in talks over a deal for “some time” with a move set to “push through.”

Antwerp are said to be keen to conclude the talks with the club in need on a financial cash injection this summer – and they know that Balikwisha will not extend his contract.

It is claimed that the final details over a fee are being ironed out in the wake of Nicolas Kuhn’s imminent £17.2million move to Como.

The winger was photographed jetting out to Italy as he prepares for a medical and the final hurdles of the deal with the Serie A side.

The Hoops are reportedly interested in the man who succeeded the German winger at Rapid Vienna, Isak Jansson.

The 23-year-old joined Rapid in the Austrian Bundesliga in January 2024 – and could do the same at Celtic Park this summer.

But the club are set play hardball over their valuation – with Markus Katzer confirmed that a bid by an unnamed club has already been turned down.

Rapid’s record sales are Robert Beric and Max Wöber – who both left the club for €7.5 million (£6.4million).
