McCausland set for Rangers exit as MLS club emerge as favourites – Exclusive

Ross McCausland is edging towards the exit door at Rangers.
The Northern Ireland international has struggled for regular minutes in recent months at Ibrox, having become a regular in the 2023/24 season.
Last campaign, it was clear that Barry Ferguson had other preferences within the squad after coming in on an interim basis in February.
This could now see the 22-year-old move on this summer, with an MLS outfit emerging as an early favourite in the market.

The Light Blues have already made an attacking addition in the shape of Thelo Aasgaard from Luton Town, something which could represent bad news for the Gers academy product.
As a result, links to a move away from Govan hardly come as a surprise, especially with the new Scottish Premiership season less than three weeks away.
With that being said, Ibrox News has learned that McCausland is attracting interest from a number of sides across England, Europe and America.
Sources close to the player have revealed that a loan deal with an option to buy in 12 months is looking like the most likely option at this stage of the window.
Now, Ibrox News can reveal that St Louis City are catching the eye as early favourites to land the Northern Irishman as they are keen to sign a player in the profile of the winger.

St Louis City favourites to sign McCausland from Rangers
This summer has already proven to be busy for Russell Martin in the opening months of his tenure in the dugout at Ibrox.
It hasn’t yet shown any signs of slowing down, with further options potentially set to come in with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Conor Coady being linked with a move.
With further incomings looking possible, outgoings will be required to make room in the squad and unfortunately McCausland appears to be one on the chopping block.

A loan deal to MLS with St Louis could prove to be a positive switch for the young forward, with any success in the States potentially set to result in a permanent deal next summer.
