Manchester United Set for Triple Departure to Pave Way for Fresh Faces

Manchester United could see three key defenders, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof, depart Old Trafford in 2025. The anticipated clear-out is reportedly aimed at allowing new manager Ruben Amorim to rebuild the squad’s defensive line with his own selections.

Appointed after Erik ten Hag’s departure, Amorim is eager to reshape the Red Devils as they attempt to recover from their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, currently sitting in 13th place. Although Maguire, Evans, and Lindelof’s contracts are set to expire by the end of the 2024-25 season, Amorim is already eyeing potential replacements, including Sporting Lisbon stars Ousmane Diomande and Goncalo Inacio.

Since Ten Hag’s dismissal, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt have become the preferred center-back duo under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy. With new signing Leny Yoro also nearing a return from injury, competition for defensive spots will only intensify, leaving limited opportunities for Maguire and Lindelof.

As the January transfer window approaches, United fans could witness the beginning of a new defensive era, with fresh talent potentially transforming the squad’s fortunes.
