Liverpool’s Potential January Transfer Targets: Defensive and Midfield Reinforcements Prioritize
Liverpool are expected to be active in the upcoming January transfer window, with several high-profile names linked as the club looks to strengthen key areas of the squad. Central defence remains a priority, and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi is once again on their radar. A previous deal reportedly collapsed, but January could present a renewed opportunity for Liverpool to secure the highly rated centre-back.
In attack, Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has emerged as a possible addition. According to Fabrizio Romano, there is roughly a 60% chance of a January move due to a release clause in his contract, making him a realistic option for Liverpool’s forward line. Meanwhile, Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is said to be one of the club’s top midfield targets. Liverpool are reportedly willing to invest heavily, viewing the young Frenchman as a dynamic presence capable of elevating their midfield.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha is another midfielder under consideration. Reports suggest Liverpool see him as a potential No. 6 or a high-energy “engine-room” option, given his technical ability and creativity. At the back, Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is included in Liverpool’s long-term defensive wishlist. The left-footed, ball-playing centre-back fits the club’s profile, although Inter may be reluctant to sell mid-season and his price tag could be significant.
Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson is viewed as a more realistic defensive target, offering proven Premier League experience and reliable two-way ability. However, Fulham may still demand a substantial fee. In attack, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has also been mentioned as a potential target, with his versatility and creative threat making him an intriguing option should Liverpool choose to reinforce their forward department in January.
