Liverpool Facing Mounting Injury Crisis Ahead of Brentford Clash — Frimpong Out, Isak & Gravenberch in Doubt

Liverpool’s injury list just got longer — and Arne Slot has a serious headache ahead of this weekend’s Premier League trip to Brentford.
In a press conference earlier today, Slot confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong has suffered another hamstring injury and will be sidelined for several weeks. “Jeremie’s not in a good place,” Slot admitted. “He won’t play today, tomorrow, or next week. It’s going to take a while.”
The setback couldn’t come at a worse time. Frimpong, who has been one of Liverpool’s brightest sparks since his arrival, picked up the injury during their Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt — just as the Reds were beginning to rebuild form.
To make matters worse, Alexander Isak, the club’s record £125 million signing, is now a “question mark” for the Brentford game after experiencing groin discomfort in Germany. The forward, who was brought in to replace Darwin Núñez, could miss another crucial fixture.
Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is also doubtful after twisting his ankle last week. He missed the Frankfurt trip and faces a late fitness test before Saturday’s game.
These new concerns pile on top of Liverpool’s existing problems. Alisson Becker remains out with a hamstring injury, while young defender Giovanni Leoni is sidelined for the season following ACL surgery.
Fans are growing increasingly worried, with Liverpool’s squad depth being pushed to its limits. Despite this, Slot remains confident that his side can cope. The manager praised the versatility of his squad but admitted that “the schedule is taking its toll.”
Liverpool have shown resilience in recent weeks, but the absence of key names could test their momentum once again. The match against Brentford now carries extra weight — not just for points, but for morale.
With fixtures against Manchester City and Real Madrid looming in November, Slot will be desperate to avoid further casualties. The next few weeks could define Liverpool’s season — and their title ambitions.
