Leeds United can finally get revenge on Sunderland after £26m development

Sunderland have been a frustration to Leeds United this summer transfer window.
With both clubs achieving extraordinary seasons by getting back into the Premier League, it seems as though the same transfer strategy is at hand.
This comes after Habib Diarra picked Sunderland over Leeds in what was a shock move from the young midfielder.
Daniel Farke would’ve hoped this would be the only time The Black Cats got one over his side, but Leeds target Noah Sadiki also picked Sunderland.
With Regis Le Bris’ side proving a nuisance, the 49ers can get their own back after a development.

Leeds United can get revenge on Sunderland through Georges Mikautadze
It’s clear both sides will be looking in the same area for players with survival at stake this season.
To lose out on two midfield targets is tough to take, especially now Sean Longstaff is proving difficult to sign.
But the owners should come back to a deal for a midfielder further down the line, as now an option is firmly available up front, and it involves getting revenge on Sunderland.
It’s been made clear that Leeds fans want Georges Mikautadze, after it was said Lyon were being relegated to Ligue 2.
This isn’t the case anymore after winning their appeal, but Mikautadze still seems to be on his way out, and the Whites should acquire his services, as Mikautadze can replicate Raphinha at Leeds.
Journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, has covered Sunderland’s interest, and for once, a transfer is failing with the Mackems not wanting to pay over £26m for the 24-year-old.
Instead, they only have a £17m budget for a striker, and Leeds should use this development to their advantage.
It’s previously been said that Leeds will spend £30m on a striker, and Mikautadze is the perfect option ready and waiting, and no doubt the Whites would love to finally get one over Sunderland.
Mikautadze is a massive upgrade on Joel Piroe for Leeds
If the Whites submit an offer around this £26m mark, they will already gain the advantage over Sunderland, giving them a taste of their own medicine.
Leeds are looking for a striker despite Joel Piroe being predicted to shine next season, as the 49ers feel like they can do better.
It might be just a case of competition for Farke, but if Mikautadze signs, the Whites will be getting more than a striker.
His ability to be versatile could also be a useful tool for Farke, and consistency also lies with the Georgian, which is something Piroe struggled with last campaign.
Taking this into account and gaining the striker for a fee around £30m whilst also beating Sunderland to a target seems like a no-brainer.
