Leeds United announcement slammed as ‘beyond lazy’

Leeds United have caused controversy with their latest announcement ahead of their Premier League return.
Leeds have already started to strengthen their squad, having made three new signings.
It is not only arrivals at Elland Road, however, as Max Wober looks set to leave West Yorkshire and join Werder Bremen.
Mateo Joseph is another player who has an uncertain future in LS11, with the Spaniard unlikely to feature much in the Premier League next season under Daniel Farke.

Leeds slammed over new home kit announcement
There are still other players that Leeds must sell ahead of their return to the top-flight,
A signal to every supporter that the new season is on the horizon is the release of a new kit.
This can be one of the more exciting times for Leeds supporters, who are known to flock to Elland Road and purchase large quantities of shirts that meet their expectations, see last season’s yellow away kit, for example.
Leeds United released a video showcasing their new home kit for their Premier League campaign (4 July), and it’s safe to say it has divided opinion.
Journalist James Marshment has hit out at the announcement at a post on X, claiming the kit is “beyond lazy”.
“Now the kit is official, I can’t honestly believe that has been approved,” Marshment said.
“Beyond lazy from Adidas, given it’s virtually last year’s LUFC kit with a tiny trim addition. I know Leeds fans will buy it anyway, but maybe not as many sales this year, given most will already own it?!”
Leeds’ new home kit is nice in isolation
The new shirt is a lovely Leeds United home kit when looked at in isolation, aside from the Red Bull sponsor that controversially ensures the colour red features on United’s home top.
The trim around the collar and sleeves are inspired by the Lowfields Tunnel just outside the stadium and has been pulled off well by Adidas.
However, the resemblance to last season’s home shirt is there for all to see and arguably does not justify supporters forking out the £70 asking price.
If Leeds can pull off a deal for Nikola Krstovic and he can fire Leeds to Premier League safety, then no supporter will be bothered about the look of his kit.
