La Liga President Javier Tebas Criticizes Real Madrid’s Florentino Pérez Amid Investigation

The tense relationship between La Liga President Javier Tebas and Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez, has escalated, with Tebas publicly criticizing Pérez amid an ongoing investigation. Tebas did not hold back in his remarks, accusing Pérez of trying to undermine his position and disrupt La Liga’s governance.

Tebas accused Pérez of refusing to accept the global rejection of his Super League proposal and instead attempting to destabilize La Liga’s operations. “It appears that certain individuals cannot come to terms with the fact that their Super League project has been universally rejected by the football community. Meanwhile, the CVC investment project with La Liga has received overwhelming support, with 39 out of 42 clubs backing it, as well as approval from the courts,” Tebas stated.

He continued, “It seems that someone, who is skilled in political maneuvering, is resorting to desperate measures in an attempt to impose their own vision of football. We will continue our work with determination and will defend our position vigorously.”

Tebas also suggested that Pérez’s inability to gain support from other clubs in Spain and Europe has led him to seek alternative methods to challenge Tebas’s leadership. “It’s evident that Florentino Pérez, who has struggled to persuade clubs in Spain or across Europe, is now exploring other avenues to attempt to displace the democratically elected President of La Liga,” Tebas added.

As the investigation progresses, Tebas remains resolute in his commitment to maintain his role at the helm of La Liga. The situation continues to develop, and the outcome of the investigation will likely have significant implications for both La Liga’s leadership and its future direction.
