Kyle Walker-Peters fails narrowly in his cheeky transfer hint

Walker-Peters tipped for another transfer blow as his Fulham rumours seem falling apart with the club prioritising Coventry City’s Milan van Ewijk.
Days ago, Walker-Peters was spotted vacationing alongside Fulham duo, Iwobi and Smith Rowe. Now, though just pictures, it by far felt an indirect hint of his possible summer destination, following his limited appearance after his Southampton exit.
Well, now intentional or not, but if the player was teasing his fans for a surprise move, Walker-Peters is in for a miserable shock himself.
Unwantedly, following in his ex-teammate and compatriot Aaron Ramsdale’s footsteps, Walker-Peters is on the verge of facing a major snub. And just when his long-held transfer saga felt concluding, it feels actually beginning now.
That’s because of Fulham’s recent serious interest in acquiring Milan van Ewijk, who has emerged as their priority full-back reinforcement.
Recently, Sky Sports confirmed the links as Fulham has initiated steps as they want van Ewijk’s signing ahead of the upcoming season. Needless to say, this rumour suppresses their previous Walker-Peters’ interest, with the player not central to the Top Flight suit’s consideration now.
Honestly, this would come as a major setback to KWP and his fans, who have grown tired of him chasing transfers even until now. But if this irked them, knowing that Fulham’s interest may have been a long-planned move would leave them stunned.
Southampton must be wary of Coventry’s Championship ambitions
In case you remember, very recently, Frank Lampard outplayed Southampton as he secured right-back Kaine Kesler Hayden’s move to Coventry. And it isn’t difficult to realise that it’s been for a reason as they would be internally planning Milan van Ewijk’s departure from long ago.
But for whom? Fulham, who despite being a recent entrant in van Ewijk’s transfer race, seems to have dictated Coventry’s actions in their master plan all along.
Now, nobody knows whether that’s the true behind-the-scenes story or not, but what feels well known now is Coventry’s double hit on the Saints.
Firstly depriving them of Kesler-Hayden and now emotionally impacting them on KWP’s transfer, Frank Lampard and his side have just begun teasing off their moves. And that’s when they haven’t met Southampton in the Championship, where they can be a major roadblock to their promotion push.
Overall, though Walker-Peters’ transfer halt won’t directly affect Southampton, it surely cautions them of ambitious clubs like Coventry. Hopefully, the Saints take notes and implement them when the real on-the-field action begins.
