Hansi Flick Reveals His Plans for €90m Barcelona Star, Gavi

The past few weeks have been pivotal for FC Barcelona, not only due to their impressive victories over top European teams like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but also because of the return of key players to the squad.

Among the notable recoveries are midfielders Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Gavi. All have made their returns to action, with Frenkie and Gavi yet to start a match this season. However, the Dutch midfielder is expected to make his first start in tonight’s game against Red Star Belgrade, while Gavi continues his journey back to full fitness.

In a recent press conference ahead of Barcelona’s match against the Serbian side, head coach Hansi Flick provided an update on Gavi’s recovery, shedding light on his plans for the €90m-rated player.

“I spoke with him, and we’ve decided to take it step by step,” said Flick. “He’ll gradually get more minutes depending on how the games go. He played a bit against Espanyol, and he’s doing very well in training. He gives us more ball control.”

Although Gavi has not yet returned to his best form, Flick’s cautious approach to his reintegration ensures the midfielder avoids any relapses, preparing him for a stronger impact in the latter half of the season.

With Barcelona’s ongoing momentum, the gradual return of key players like Gavi will play a crucial role in shaping the Blaugranas’ future successes.
