Gary Neville Warns Arsenal and Liverpool After Man City’s Collapse
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has issued a stern warning to Arsenal and Liverpool, suggesting that they should capitalize on Manchester City’s recent struggles.
City’s 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur marked their fifth consecutive loss across all competitions. This significant downturn has opened up opportunities for other Premier League contenders, including Chelsea and Brighton, to challenge for top-four positions.
Neville believes that Arsenal and Liverpool, as the two most likely challengers to City’s title hopes, should seize the moment and push for the Premier League crown. He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and avoiding complacency:
“If you’re Arsenal, if you’re Liverpool – I’m thinking the two genuine teams that can win the title other than City – you must not get carried away but feel there are no excuses here now.”
Neville also expressed particular concern about Arsenal’s potential to falter, citing their recent inconsistency:
“With that remark, I’m focusing more on Arsenal than Liverpool. Anybody looking at Arne Slot arriving at the beginning of the season would say: “I’m not quite sure that will happen”. If this was City’s season, Arsenal’s was another.”
As the Premier League season progresses, the race for the title is heating up. With Manchester City’s form in decline, Arsenal and Liverpool will be eager to take advantage and solidify their positions at the top of the table.
