Floods in Spain: Devastating News for Robert Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski has found himself in a difficult situation as his home has been impacted by the severe storms currently battering Spain. Heavy rainfall continues to affect the region, prompting authorities to issue an “extreme danger” weather warning for Barcelona. Reports indicate that flash floods in the eastern part of the country have resulted in at least 217 fatalities, according to Sky News.
In Barcelona, a red alert has been activated, with further rainfall anticipated. Residents are receiving warnings about the “continuous rainfall” occurring south of the city, and local authorities have advised people in Catalonia to avoid all non-essential travel to ensure their safety. Unfortunately, Lewandowski’s home has been affected by these extreme weather conditions. His wife, Anna, took to Instagram on Monday to share a video that showed their garage flooded, with water reaching ankle height at the entrance. She also posted images of vehicles struggling to navigate streets submerged by the floodwaters.
The catastrophic weather arrives just one day after FC Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory against Espanyol at the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys, which has left the Catalan club nine points clear at the top of the La Liga table, ahead of their rivals Real Madrid. While Lewandowski played the entire match, he did not find the back of the net. Nevertheless, he has had a remarkable season so far, scoring 17 goals and providing two assists across 15 appearances in La Liga and the Champions League.
The impact of the floods adds a layer of concern for Lewandowski and his family, as they navigate the challenges posed by these unprecedented weather conditions.
