There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Aston Villa are to step up their pursuit of Besiktas forward Semih Kılıçsoy.

The Premier League side have been linked with the 23-year-old for the past 12 months following reports they tried to sign him last summer.

An Aston Villa’s offer was reportedly rejected by the Besiktas hierarchy, but their stance on the player has now changed after he endured a disappointing season. Also with the arrival of Tammy Abraham on loan from AS Roma they may look to offload him.

Aksam report on Aston Villa’s interest in Kılıçsoy and state transfer talks with Besiktas will commence in the coming days.

It’s claimed the English club could use Donyell Malen in a possible swap deal as the Blacks Eagles look to strengthen in the wide attacking areas. The Dutch intentional only arrived a Villa Park in January, so that may be unlikely.

Kılıçsoy has also been linked with Newcastle United and Leeds United in recent weeks.

He made 36 appearances for the Super Lig club last season, scoring four goals, and is contracted until June 2028.
