Arteta Confirms Key Absences in Arsenal’s Squad for Brugge Trip

Mikel Arteta has announced three significant omissions from Arsenal’s travelling squad for the match against Club Brugge, confirming that several important players will not feature. The news presents a considerable challenge as the team prepares for a demanding fixture.

Declan Rice has been ruled out due to illness, leaving a notable gap in midfield. His absence removes one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers and a key figure in both defensive stability and ball progression.

William Saliba also remains unavailable, continuing his spell on the sidelines. Without the French defender, Arsenal will again rely on alternative options in central defence, testing the squad’s depth in a crucial period.

Leandro Trossard is the third major absentee, having suffered a setback with a recurring knock. His creativity and versatility in the attacking line will be missed, especially in a match expected to demand sharp offensive transitions.

Although the trio’s absence is a setback, Arteta emphasized that it creates opportunities for other players to step forward. The manager expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to adapt and deliver despite the reduced options.
