Arsenal & Liverpool Set to Bid £50m for Martin Zubimendi in January Transfer Window

Arsenal and Liverpool are both preparing to make a £50 million bid for Real Sociedad’s highly-rated midfielder, Martin Zubimendi, as the January transfer window approaches.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that Sociedad is now open to listening to offers for the 25-year-old Spain international, although his asking price is expected to be closer to £60 million.

Both Premier League clubs showed interest in Zubimendi during the summer, and it appears they are ready to return with fresh offers this winter.

While Manchester City may also enter the race, with Rodri’s injury causing a gap in their midfield, it is understood that Arsenal and Liverpool are currently in a stronger position to land the player.

Zubimendi’s impressive performances for Sociedad have caught the attention of top clubs, and his skill set makes him an ideal addition for either Arsenal or Liverpool.

The midfielder has the technical quality and vision to bolster both teams, and his ability to control the game from the center of the park would be a valuable asset for either squad.

For Arsenal, the need for additional midfield options has become more pressing.

With both Thomas Partey and Jorginho nearing the end of their contracts, Mikel Arteta may see Zubimendi as the perfect replacement to ensure his midfield remains strong for the long term.

Liverpool, having made an excellent start to the season, could also look to Zubimendi to further strengthen their midfield.

Ryan Gravenberch has been performing well under Arne Slot’s guidance, but adding Zubimendi could provide the club with an upgrade, particularly over players like Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo.

Both clubs are aware of Zubimendi’s €60 million release clause, but with Sociedad now willing to negotiate, a deal could be reached for a lower price.

This potential transfer promises to be one of the most exciting moves of the January window, with both Arsenal and Liverpool battling for the talented midfielder.
