Al-Ittihad Increase Bid for Leandro Trossard: Should Arsenal Let Him Go?
Leandro Trossard finds himself under the spotlight following his subpar performance against Newcastle, leaving Arsenal with two months to reassess his role in the squad.
The Belgian forward, who was pivotal last season, now faces uncertainty as Saudi club Al-Ittihad intensifies their pursuit.
According to The Mirror, Al-Ittihad remains determined to secure Trossard’s services. Their interest dates back to the summer transfer window when they reportedly offered €35 million for the former Brighton winger.
Arsenal rejected the bid, citing the closed transfer window and Trossard’s importance to the team at the time. However, with only 2 goals in 10 league appearances this season, the decision to keep him is now under scrutiny.
Al-Ittihad have upped their offer to £40 million, presenting Arsenal with a dilemma. The deal could provide financial flexibility to target reinforcements, including West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, who has been a long-term target. However, with Kudus valued at £90 million, Arsenal must decide if they can afford such a move.
Alternatively, options like Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford or Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth could offer more cost-effective solutions.
Trossard’s versatility and experience are no longer enough to mask his current struggles, raising questions about his future at the Emirates. If Arsenal agrees to the transfer, it could pave the way for much-needed squad upgrades.
Whether they choose to invest heavily in Kudus or explore more affordable alternatives, the next few months will be crucial for Arsenal’s title ambitions and squad restructuring.
