Everton have secured the signing of striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal.

It is the news all Everton fans will have been pining for over recent weeks, but Barry is finally on Merseyside preparing for his new adventure.

David Moyes is now pushing the Everton recruitment team to keep the momentum in the transfer market, with so many new players still needed.

For now, Everton will celebrate the signing of the France U21 international who recently ended his holiday in Miami to complete the move.

Barry is delighted to be joining Everton, with the Frenchman sharing his excitement for things to come.

But it is what Moyes has told the striker which will also delight a lot of Everton fans.

Even Tottenham Hotspur forward Mathys Tel reacted to Barry signing for Everton, with the pair playing together at international level.

It is a move which clearly has a lot of people excited given the potential the young striker has on offer.

Speaking to the club’s media team following the move, Barry shared the conversations he had with Moyes prior to making the move official.

“I had good conversations with the manager. He told me I have the quality to play in the Premier League,” he said.

“He wants to do good work with me. He wants to help me on my road and I felt the sincerity with him so that’s why I chose to come here as well.”

Moyes is open to signing two strikers this summer, which could be interesting given Beto will already be feeling the pressure for the starting spot.

Clearly, Moyes played his part in attracting Barry to Merseyside, and the 62-year-old is not going to let off with his own pressure on the recruitment staff.

Everton prepared for Barry’s settling in period

The Toffees have not had a great deal of fortune when it comes to their strikers over recent years.

So, to expect Barry to hit the ground running is certainly a big ask given his lack of experience in the Premier League.

However, the Blues are preparing themselves for Barry’s adjustment period as he will now be taking on a second new country in just 12 months.

Speaking on the matter, Moyes has shared his plans for Barry to get himself up and running at Finch Farm.

“We will give him plenty of time to settle in and we are looking forward to getting started working with him as soon as possible,” said the 62-year-old.
