“Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool Future Uncertain: Brighton Clash Could Be Farewell”

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool Future in Doubt as Brighton Clash Could Be Farewell
Liverpool manager Arne Slot faces a critical decision this weekend as Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield hangs in the balance. After an explosive outburst against the club following the 3-3 draw with Leeds, the Egyptian forward was left out of the squad for Liverpool’s midweek Champions League clash with Inter Milan—a game they won without him.
Salah, 33, has trained with the team ahead of the Premier League visit from Brighton, but Slot has yet to confirm whether he will be recalled for what could potentially be his final appearance for the Reds. The winger is set to head to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following the weekend fixture, further complicating any decision.
Liverpool are currently short on attacking options, with Cody Gakpo sidelined, Federico Chiesa unavailable, and Alexander Isak struggling for form. Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai are expected to lead the line in Salah’s absence. Some argue recalling Salah would bolster Liverpool’s chances against Brighton, but others insist it sends the wrong message after his public comments.
Salah has scored five goals this season, but his influence on the pitch has noticeably waned compared to his previous seasons. Many feel that without a public apology and clear contrition, reintegrating him before AFCON would be unwise. Analysts and fans alike are speculating whether his outburst was a sign of frustration or an attempt to orchestrate a January transfer, possibly to Saudi Arabia.
For now, the earliest Salah could return from AFCON is December 29. This window may allow time for tensions to ease, but the likelihood of him featuring against Brighton appears slim. Liverpool may now be looking ahead to a post-Salah era, focusing on younger talents to fill the void left by one of their greatest eve
