Just a day after playing his final match of the year against Sevilla FC, young Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler received some fantastic news.

The 19-year-old Turkish prodigy has been named La Liga’s U23 Player of the Month for December.

This prestigious accolade signifies Güler’s significant progress compared to last season. Having arrived in Madrid a year ago, he has matured significantly and earned the trust of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

This season, Güler has already played 19 matches, including 7 starts, showcasing his talent and dedication.

Güler’s impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed. La Liga, in collaboration with Riyadh Season, recently nominated him for the December U23 Player of the Month award.

Facing tough competition from players like Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona), Ilaix Moriba (RC Celta), and Jon Aramburu (Real Sociedad), Güler emerged victorious.

La Liga’s official announcement highlighted Güler’s recent impact on Real Madrid’s success, stating, “The young Real Madrid player has gained prominence in recent weeks, helping Carlo Ancelotti’s team achieve positive results with his goals and assists.”

This award marks a significant milestone for Güler’s career. Despite the fierce competition for playing time in Ancelotti’s squad, his exceptional skill and shooting ability have set him apart.

He is regarded as a rising star who is poised to play a much bigger role for Real Madrid in the coming weeks and months.

With 2025 promising significant challenges for the club, Güler can expect to see a considerable increase in playing time.

He has undoubtedly established himself as a key player, a far cry from his position just a few weeks ago when he was sharing the bench with the likes of Endrick.
