Three Manchester United Players Drop Early Hints for Viktoria Plzen Clash
During a training session, manager Ruben Amorim aims to inspire a strong response from his Manchester United squad as they prepare to face Viktoria Plzen.
United is set to resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday with an away fixture against Viktoria Plzen, kicking off at 5:45 PM.
Following back-to-back losses in the Premier League against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, Amorim’s team is eager to get back on track in Czechia. Sitting 12th in the Europa League standings, the team is currently positioned for a play-off spot but hopes to climb into the top eight, ensuring direct qualification for the last 16 as they pursue their first European title since 2017.
Several players have dropped hints that they’ll feature in the upcoming match, with Diogo Dalot, Leny Yoro, and Casemiro sharing pre-match graphics of the fixture on their Instagram stories.
Domestically, United is 13th in the Premier League standings, trailing eight points behind the top four that guarantees a Champions League berth. Winning the Europa League could also secure a ticket to Europe’s premier club competition, though Amorim doesn’t view it as a simpler option.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Amorim emphasized his broader goals. “As a coach, I can’t fixate on just one path,” he said. “Our primary objective is to win the Premier League. Of course, we recognize the importance of being in the Champions League for a club of our stature.”
He acknowledged the potential route through the Europa League but stressed his focus remains on achieving consistency and success in every game. “While the Champions League is a key part of winning the Premier League, for me, the priority is seeing the team improve and delivering victories consistently,” Amorim concluded.
