Real Madrid’s emphatic 3–0 victory over Athletic Bilbao, driven by Kylian Mbappé’s brace and a powerful header from Eduardo Camavinga, was overshadowed by two significant second-half injuries. Despite the convincing scoreline, the focus quickly shifted from the team’s performance to the fitness concerns emerging from the match.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who had provided his first La Liga assist to set up Mbappé’s opening goal, was the first to go down. The right-back pulled up clutching his left adductor shortly after halftime and was unable to continue, prompting his substitution for Raúl Asencio. His reaction immediately raised alarm among the medical staff.

Camavinga followed soon after, leaving the pitch only minutes later. The midfielder, who had contributed both defensively and in attack before his withdrawal, was replaced by Arda Güler. His departure added to the growing concerns surrounding Madrid’s midfield depth.

Club sources have confirmed that both players will undergo medical tests within the next 48 hours to determine the severity of their injuries. There is particular worry regarding Alexander-Arnold, as this marks his third muscular issue since arriving from Liverpool. The recurrence of such problems has intensified scrutiny over his physical stability.

However, early indications provide some relief. Journalist Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE reported that Camavinga’s injury “does not seem serious,” offering hope that the Frenchman could return to action relatively quickly. Real Madrid will now await the results of both assessments as they prepare for a demanding run of fixtures.
