Fresh unrest is reportedly growing inside Real Madrid. According to El Chiringuito TV, several players were displeased with the team’s decision to travel to Bilbao a day early ahead of their La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao. The trip from Madrid to the Basque Country takes roughly an hour, and some squad members felt the early departure was unnecessary.
Journalist Marcos Benito, speaking via Foot Mercato, explained that the frustration comes from the team’s heavy match schedule over the past month. With the winter break approaching, many players had hoped to spend as much time as possible at home with their families instead of spending an additional night away in Bilbao.
This discontent adds another layer to an already tense atmosphere around the club. Real Madrid has faced several internal issues recently, and the latest complaints suggest that not all concerns inside the dressing room have been resolved.
The situation also hints at lingering friction between manager Xabi Alonso and his players. While the club has attempted to project stability, reports like this suggest that deeper issues may still be simmering beneath the surface.
