Tensions Rise as Vinícius Júnior Rejects Real Madrid Renewal Offer

Vinícius Júnior has reportedly informed club president Florentino Pérez that he does not wish to renew his contract with Real Madrid at this time. The situation is complicated by growing tensions between the Brazilian forward and head coach Xabi Alonso, whose relationship has reportedly deteriorated in recent months.

Sources close to the club indicate that Vinícius feels he has not been treated fairly by the manager, a perception that has contributed to the strain. The issue gained further attention after the Clásico, when Vinícius publicly apologized but notably did not mention Xabi Alonso—an omission that insiders claim was intentional and one that surprised both club officials and coaching staff.

Financial negotiations have also stalled. Vinícius currently earns €18 million net per year, and Real Madrid recently offered an improved €20 million net salary in a new contract. Despite this increase, the player rejected the proposal, signaling deeper concerns beyond financial compensation.

Representatives for Vinícius are reportedly seeking a historic contract comparable to the peak earnings of Cristiano Ronaldo, aiming for a total package valued around €30 million per season, including salary, bonuses, and renewal incentives. This demand underscores the player’s belief in his market value and status within the club.

As discussions remain at a standstill, the situation poses a significant challenge for Real Madrid. The breakdown in communication and unresolved contractual expectations leave both the player’s future and the club’s long-term planning in uncertainty, making this one of the most delicate internal matters the club currently faces.
