BREAKING NEWS: Ruben Amorim Instructs Manchester United Player to Depart by January
As Ruben Amorim prepares to take over as Manchester United’s new permanent manager, a significant change is underway at Old Trafford. Ahead of his official start on Monday, Amorim has already made bold decisions regarding the current squad, with one high-profile player being instructed to leave by January.
In a recent statement, Amorim was clear about his intentions for the team: “I’m not interested in what kind of relationship he had with Ten Hag. Once I arrived, he’s definitely leaving my team. I don’t work with average players.” This strong message indicates that the player in question, who remains unnamed, will not be part of Amorim’s plans moving forward.
This development comes as Manchester United continues its transition following the departure of Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last month after a disappointing start to the season. Ruud van Nistelrooy, the interim manager, has overseen a few matches, including a 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK, but uncertainty remains over his future with the club. Amorim is expected to bring in his own coaching staff from Sporting Lisbon, leaving Van Nistelrooy’s long-term role at the club in doubt.
Amorim’s arrival marks the club’s fifth managerial change since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, and his decisions will be pivotal in shaping the next chapter of Manchester United’s rebuild. With the Premier League match against Leicester City looming, all eyes will be on how the squad reacts to the new manager’s directives.
In addition to the managerial shake-up, the club is dealing with internal and external challenges. Darren Fletcher, the first-team coach, has been handed a three-match touchline ban for misconduct during a recent match against Brentford, meaning he will miss both the Chelsea and Ipswich Town games. Furthermore, United has struggled with injuries this season, but there is optimism that key players like Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro are close to returning to full fitness, which will provide a boost to Amorim as he prepares for his debut match.
As Manchester United embarks on this new era under Ruben Amorim, the club faces a crucial period of transition that will shape its future both on and off the pitch.
