“Three England Internationals Consider Switching Nationality Ahead of Euro 2024

Three Premier League players – Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, and Tino Livramento – have announced their decision to change their international allegiance just months before Euro 2024. With Gareth Southgate finalizing his England squad, these players, who are eligible for Scotland, are reportedly considering representing Steve Clarke’s team for the tournament in Germany.

The English squad announcement, set for March, leaves slim chances for newcomers, making the Scotland switch more appealing. Barnes, capped once by England, has struggled with injuries, while Livramento is seeing more game time but faces strong competition in England’s defensive line. Gordon, who recently won the U21 Euros with England, may be Southgate’s best shot at a late call-up, yet his spot remains uncertain.

Newcastle’s Elliott Anderson is another potential addition to Scotland, though he has shown hesitation in fully committing. Scotland assistant coach John Carver noted that the final choice lies with the players, emphasizing their current club roles and development before deciding on international futures.

Carver assured that the door remains open for any player willing to commit to Scotland’s ambitions, with a focus on individual growth and readiness to decide when the time is right.
