Rangers ‘set for move’ as huge Jordan Henderson update emerges

Jordan Henderson has been linked with a move to Rangers this summer, given their interest in signing new midfielders.
The former Liverpool captain has enjoyed a decorated playing career that includes winning the Champions League and the Premier League.
Currently, the England international is plying his trade at Ajax, where he has another year left on his contract.

Jordan Henderson set to leave Ajax
The 35-year-old will be parting ways with the Dutch side this summer, according to The Times on 9 July.
He will be terminating his contract at Ajax as he wants to leave in order to boost his chances of playing for England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.

Henderson’s Ajax record in the Eredivisie last season.
Even though former Liverpool coach John Heitenga is now the manager of the Amsterdam outfit, he does not see a future there.
Rangers are said to have a good chance of signing Henderson, but are yet to make a formal approach to bring him to the club.

Rangers can now make move to sign Henderson on a free transfer
Henderson’s termination of his Ajax contract is a significant boost for Rangers, enabling them to sign the 35-year-old midfielder on a free transfer, leveraging a rare clause allowing his departure before mid-July.
His vast experience, including a Champions League title and Premier League success as Liverpool’s captain, brings leadership and a winning mentality to Gers’ youthful midfield.
The former Premier League midfielder’s 45 appearances in all competitions for Ajax last season demonstrate his durability, while his versatility as a deep-lying or advanced playmaker suits Russell Martin’s high-pressing system.
Despite a dip in form, his work rate and physicality can stabilise the Ibrox outfit’s midfield, mentoring younger talents and enhancing their Scottish Premiership and Champions League campaigns.
With no transfer fee and a modest salary contribution, Henderson is a cost-effective and high-impact signing.
