Tom Rogic Makes Emotional Celtic Return Confession

Tom Rogic will make a long-awaited return to Celtic Park after being confirmed as one of the players taking part in an upcoming Legends Charity Match against Manchester United at Celtic Park.

The Australian midfielder, who bowed out of Celtic in May 2022 after nine glittering years, will once again pull on the Hoops, though he admitted it will be his first time doing so since retiring from professional football in 2023.

During his time at the club, Rogic became a cult hero among the support, racking up 273 appearances and winning an astonishing 16 major honours. His name is signed into Celtic history thanks to his unforgettable stoppage-time winner in the 2017 Scottish Cup final that clinched the Invincible Treble under Brendan Rodgers.

The 32-year-old has not been back in Glasgow since his departure, but will return to the east end of the city for a special occasion that sees two historic clubs coming together in aid of a worthy cause. Rogic’s involvement adds further excitement to what is already shaping up to be a memorable afternoon.

The former playmaker also paid tribute to the efforts of Celtic FC Foundation and called on supporters to turn out in force to back the event, which will raise vital funds for those in need.

He said: (Celtic FC), “I’m really looking forward to coming to Glasgow for the Legends Charity Match.

“I haven’t been back since I left the club, so the opportunity to return and play at Celtic Park once again is very exciting. There are also a lot of familiar faces I’m looking forward to seeing.

“It will be amazing to play at the stadium again in front of the incredible Celtic supporters. The club was such a huge part of my career and also my life, so coming back and being able to play in front of the fans again feels a little surreal but it’s something I really can’t wait for.

“I haven’t actually laced up a pair of boots since I retired, though, so it should make for an interesting day!

“It’ll no doubt be a great occasion, with two footballing powerhouse clubs coming together for a great cause.

“I’m sure, as always, that the Celtic supporters will come out in their numbers to get behind the match and it’s really important that they do so, as the funds raised will make a big difference to those most in need.

“The work that the foundation do is phenomenal, so it’s a privilege to be involved and hopefully together we can raise lots of money.”
