The return of competitive football is almost upon us but for now it’s Scotland’s number one LIVE transfer blog that is taking all the heat.

Celtic are hoping to land long-term target Michel-Ange Balikwisha as talks with Royal Antwerp continue but the Hoops lose out in their pursuit of Isak Jansson after a rival club came in with a mega offer for the winger.

Things are really happneing across the city at Rangers.

Former Ibrox wide man Josh Windass could be in for a sensational return and should it materialise, he will be joined by Sheffield Wednesday teammate Djeidi Gassama. Aberdeen hero Bojan Miovski has also emerged as a potential target after Russell Martin was previously linked with the Macedonian during his time in the hotseat at Southampton

On the subject of the Dons, the Scottish Cup winners have recruited six new faces so far this summer but another striker remains a priority for Jimmmy Thelin.

Hearts are hoping for two more new arrivals this week with Burkina Faso international Pierre Landry Kabore and Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota both set for medicals.

Hibs boss David Gray, meanwhile, still wants Nectar Triantis back from Sunderland.

And down south, Everton are said to have expressed an interest in Aston Villa skipper and Scotland talisman John McGinn.

McTominay excited by De Bruyne arrival

Scott McTominay is delighted to see his former English Premier League rival Kevin De Bruyne team up with him at Napoli.

The Belgian midfield maestro has called it quits after 10 trophy-laden seasons at Manchester City to join the Serie A champions, having previously squared off against McTominay during the Scotland star’s time at Manchester United.

And McTominay reckons the Belgian’s arrival shows that the Naples side are not resting on their laurels after winning the Scudetto.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said:

He’ll bring quality, we don’t want to stop there. De Bruyne is an extraordinary player and will bring immense quality to the team. Having players of his caliber alongside us is exceptional for all of us. We don’t want to settle for what we’ve achieved so far. We want to start again with the same hunger and new ambitions.
