Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers reacts as shock Premier League transfer finalised

Published

Morgan Rogers has been strongly linked with an Aston Villa exit this summer.

The England international was one of the biggest breakout stars in the Premier League last campaign, becoming irreplaceable in claret and blue.

As a result, it is no surprise that there is heavy interest in the Unai Emery favourite moving deeper into the transfer window.

The 22-year-old has now shared an instant reaction from Villa Park as a hugely surprising deal was completed elsewhere in the Premier League.

Rogers reacts to shock transfer update

There is no doubt that the B6 club will be keen on keeping hold of the star attacker, ready for the upcoming campaign.

With that being said, Monchi will still be keen to make a number of signings to help improve the squad in what is set to be a busy campaign.

That has seen Aston Villa linked with an experienced head like Ashley Young to help build a side ready for Europa League football.

If former players are what the Villans are interested in, a swoop for Kyle Walker at Manchester City could have made total sense.

After playing in claret and blue on loan back in 2011, the right-back could have represented a positive option for the squad moving forward.

Instead, the 35-year-old will be playing in the same colours but for Burnley after confirming the hugely surprising deal on Saturday (5 July).

Rogers left a like under the right back’s Instagram post, with Ezri Konsa also showing love to his England international teammate after his shock transfer.

Aston Villa must keep Rogers at all costs

It is very rare that you can pick up a talent for a small fee and turn them into a player potentially worth 10 times that within less than two years.

That has been exactly the case for the ex-Manchester City youngster, who has been superb ever since moving to Bodymoor Heath from Middlesbrough in January 2024.

As a result, keeping hold of the Englishman has to be of paramount importance regardless of any interest that might be shown.

Chelsea have kept an eye on Rogers already this summer, but Villa can’t allow him to replicate Walker and complete a summer move in the coming weeks and months.
