Aston Villa odds slashed to sign Grealish as ‘Guardiola ready for ruthless exit agreement’

Aston Villa could be set for a potential reunion with Jack Grealish after the midfielder has fallen out of favour at Manchester City.
Grealish became a hero at Villa after helping them to Premier League safety before departing for Pep Guardiola’s City for £100million.
The 29-year-old struggled for gametime last season and is now set to leave the Citizens, with Unai Emery’s side a potential destination.

Aston Villa could capitalise on ‘ruthless’ Guardiola
After seemingly dealing with their Profit and Sustainability worries, Emery’s side are finally ready to begin shaping their squad for next season.
The Villans have already missed out on the likes of Jesus Rodriguez and Sverre Nypan, and could now set their sights on a potential move for Grealish.
Manchester City will prioritise the ruthless sales of outcasts such as Grealish this summer after their shock exit from the Club World Cup [The Times].
With just four weeks until the start of the pre-season, Guardiola’s side will look to balance their books after splashing the cash so far this summer.
Therefore, it isn’t a surprise that the odds of Villa resigning the 29-year-old have been slashed.
Ladbrokes (3 July) have Grealish at 3/1 to join Emery’s side this summer, with the odds dropping already.

Grealish return would make sense for Aston Villa
With Villa struggling to bring Marcus Rashford back to the Midlands, a return for Grealish would make sense.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Manchester City | 157 | 17 | 23 |
Aston Villa | 213 | 32 | 43 |
Grealish’s senior club appearances at Villa and City
Grealish is still in the prime of his career, and despite underperforming at City in recent seasons, the Holgate faithful tends to get players back to their best.
The experienced playmaker is the calibre of player Emery will be looking for, having impressed in the Champions League under Guardiola.
Although Villa have avoided any PSR punishment, they must be careful not to face a similar situation next summer, and with Grealish available at a cut price, the move is a no-brainer for Villa.
