How Evann Guessand responded to approach from Wolves as new transfer claim now made

Wolves have been linked with a move for Evann Guessand – and there has been an update on the Nice forward this evening.
Wolves are looking to reinforce their attack, with Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia both leaving Molineux recently.
Wolves are light in terms of attacking options now, with Carlos Forbs also heading back to Ajax after his loan spell, and potentially one of Goncalo Guedes or Hwang Hee-chan to leave, or even both.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is in need of some competition in 2025/26.
Sasa Kalajdzic is back fit again, but may leave Wolves on loan, and Fabio Silva could also be departing.
Currently, Jorge Mendes is trying to facilitate Silva’s exit.
One forward Wolves have looked at is Evann Guessand, and tonight a fresh claim has been made about the Ivorian.
Evann Guessand did not follow up Wolves’ approach, Fenerbahce to place bid

Guessand is a player lots of Wolves fans would love to see come in this summer.
But after 13 goals and 10 assists for Nice last term across all competitions, Guessand is in demand.
Wolves were reported to have made an offer for Guessand a few weeks ago.
But since then, it has been relatively quiet regarding Wolves’ pursuit of the player.
But tonight, L’Equipe have provided some information, and they say that Guessand did not follow up Wolves’ approach.
It’s also claimed that Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho of course, are now set to make a £21 million bid for the player.
He’s pushing for Guessand and Fenerbahce have courted him for several weeks, but there is further interest in the player from AS Roma and Brighton.
Guessand stance a blow, but Georges Mikautadze would make good alternative for Wolves
If it’s true that Guessand wasn’t really receptive to a Wolves approach, then that is a real shame.
On paper, Guessand would be an excellent replacement for Matheus Cunha as someone who offers pace, power, strong ball carrying, and a goal threat.
But it sounds like the player isn’t interested, which perhaps explains why there have been so few updates on Guessand up to now.

But Wolves could potentially find a great alternative in Georges Mikautadze.
The Lyon attacker is set to leave after their relegation, and would be another great fit for that left 10 role and is someone who can also play through the middle if needed.
The Georgia international has a host of clubs on his tail at the moment, though, so any approach by Wolves needs to be quick and serious.
