Tottenham news round-up: David reaches verbal agreement as four-year deal signed

Daniel Levy is looking to accelerate Tottenham’s transfer business following recent disappointments.
Antoine Semenyo’s latest decision saw the forward join an ever-growing list of players who have effectively ruled out a transfer to Tottenham this summer.
Thomas Frank is set to meet most of his new players at the end of the week as they return from holiday, but the Dane will have hoped for at least a couple of fresh faces to have joined the Spurs squad by then.
It has put the spotlight on Levy to act once again, with Tottenham News bringing you the latest updates from N17.

Bill Nicholson Gates to return to Tottenham
Tottenham announced on Wednesday (2 July) that the famous Bill Nicholson Gates will be reinstated outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer ahead of Spurs’ first home game of next season.
The famed feature is a significant part of the Lilywhites’ heritage and a relic of White Hart Lane, but was stored away in 2015 to be preserved as Levy set about knocking down the old ground and building the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Gates became synonymous with Nicholson following a famous photo taken in the 1970s, and serve as a timely reminder of one of Tottenham’s greatest ever icons.
Jonathan David ‘reaches verbal agreement’ with Juventus
Spurs have tracked Jonathan David for several years and were expected to make an offer this summer as his contract with Lille expired.
The Canada international has become one of Ligue 1’s foremost strikers and had a particularly impressive return last season as the French club progressed to the last 16 in the UEFA Champions League.

David’s statistics with Lille (2024/25)
However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (2 July), Tottenham’s hopes of signing the striker have dissipated as David has struck a verbal agreement with Juventus.
The 25-year-old is set to travel to Italy to complete his medical before signing a long-term deal with the Old Lady.
Tottenham sign Tōko Koga on a four-year deal
Tottenham Women have made their first signing of the summer as the Lilywhites completed a deal for Tōko Koga from Feyenoord.
Spurs officially announced the 19-year-old’s arrival via X on Wednesday (2 July), with the defender signing a four-year contract at Hotspur Way.
The Japanese international already has 19 senior caps to her name and made 35 appearances for Feyenoord after joining the Dutch side in January 2024.
