Arsenal is reportedly considering using Eddie Nketiah as part of a strategy to acquire Marc Guehi. The Gunners, along with several other Premier League clubs, have been closely monitoring Guehi’s impressive performances, particularly following his strong showing for England at Euro 2024.

Competing Interests from Premier League Rivals

Liverpool and Manchester United have also shown interest in Guehi, with scouts from both clubs reportedly observing him in Germany.

Arteta’s Defensive Ambitions

Mikel Arteta is focused on bolstering Arsenal’s defense this summer and sees the 24-year-old Guehi as a key target. However, with Crystal Palace valuing Guehi at £70 million, Arsenal is looking for ways to reduce the financial impact of the transfer.

Nketiah as a Potential Trade Asset

Eddie Nketiah, who may no longer be central to Arsenal’s plans, could be included in a cash-plus-player deal, according to the Sunday Star. Crystal Palace has expressed interest in the 25-year-old forward and would welcome him to Selhurst Park. Despite having strong ties in the area, Nketiah’s future remains uncertain.

Palace’s Deliberate Approach

Crystal Palace is not rushing to make a decision regarding Guehi’s future. The versatile defender, acquired from Chelsea in 2021, has a significant sell-on clause in his contract.

Liverpool’s Immediate Intent

Meanwhile, new Liverpool manager Arne Slot is poised to make a move for Guehi. The Reds are seeking a replacement for Joel Matip, and Slot is eager to begin transfer discussions with both Guehi and Crystal Palace without delay.
