Jayden Bogle sends message as emotional Leeds United exit confirmed

Leeds United have been busy in the transfer market as they prepare for their Premier League return.

Lukas Nmecha was the first signing through the Elland Road door after leaving VfL Wolfsburg on a free transfer.

Leeds then followed that up by signing Jaka Bijol from Serie A outfit Udinese for a fee in the region of £15million.

However, now defender Jayden Bogle has shared a message amid an Elland Road departure.

Bogle was one of a wealth of Leeds players who enjoyed a phenomenal campaign, as the Peacocks were promoted to the Premier League.

The right-back made 44 Championship starts and was deadly in the final third as well as being defensively strong.

On the opposite side of Daniel Farke’s defence, Junior Firpo was also in lethal attacking form, with 14 goal contributions in the league.

However, after endless speculation around Firpo’s future, he has now officially left the club after his contract expired.

Now a free agent, the 28-year-old has a host of suitors, with Real Betis the most strongly linked to sign the defender.

With his exit confirmed, Bogle took to Instagram (1 July) to share a montage of Firpo’s moments for Leeds before an image of the pair holding the Championship trophy.

Under the video, Bogle said: “My boy! All the best in the next chapter,” followed by a heart emoji.

Firpo will be a miss for Farke, but can be replaced

There is no doubt that there is a substantial Firpo-sized hole to fill in Farke’s defence this summer.

The Dominican was exceptional for the Whites last season, and his statistics were a true reflection of his immense ability.

However, all three promoted clubs know what it is like to lose a star player, and Leeds must move on from Firpo’s departure.

Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas would be a worthy replacement at Elland Road and boasts experience at the highest level.

With Milos Kerkez and Andy Robertson for company, the Greek will surely be eyeing a first-team berth away from Anfield.

Tsimikas has demonstrated his ability when called upon and can become an Elland Road favourite under Farke.
