Crystal Palace are reportedly looking at pulling off a double raid on Middlesbrough for their star duo Hayden Hackney and Rav van den Berg.

The Sun reports that Palace are keen on bringing Hackney to the Premier League and could make a £15m move for him. The English midfielder was one of the EFL Championship’s top performers last season, also earning interest from Tottenham Hotspur and German outfit Stuttgart.

FC Porto are believed to have had a £9m bid rejected for the 13-cap England U21 international, who has two years remaining on his contract. He emerged as a target during former sporting director Dougie Freedman’s last months at Selhurst Park.

Van den Berg also looks likely to be on the move this summer following a fine past season at the Riverside where he helped eight clean sheets in 27 games. The Dutchman could be available for around £12m and is another Palace target ahead of their debut European campaign.

The 20-year-old joined Boro in the summer of 2023 and established himself as a first-team regular with several standout performances. It was the Netherlands U21 international who Palace officials were looking at before adding Hackney to their wanted list.

Their scouts watched Van den Berg in action for the Dutch youth side during the U21 European Championships. They were then drawn to displays from Hackney for winners England and the pair are now the talk of possible double swoop for £27m.

Hackney could follow in the footsteps of Adam Wharton who made the step up to the Premier League with the Eagles and became a senior England international. His compatriot Marc Guehi’s future is uncertain amid links to Liverpool and Van den Berg could be viewed as a possible long-term replacement.
